hi conth,

honestly, the design does not appeal to me, it could be improved and would require a lot of overhaul. i do not fully understood what the site is all about, not enough descriptions content etc.

just pure constructive criticism. :)

sorry but you used the wrong approach here
the pet lover site should be fill of pets not only text and watermark of pet toes

Not a fan of the overall design, theres too much waste of space on the right hand side.
Not to sure what your site is actually about only know that it "The Internet home for pet lovers!"....

On a lighter note: The pet on the right handside looks like a little poo.

guys..you are been harsh on him...give him some credit to atleast be thinking about pets..
and by the way...it seems like your target audience are kids....is it?

why doesnt Births tonight option show anything...as in all 0's there..

never knew..pets are sold online as well...so what if they are virtuall....

anyways..i like the information section....you have covered most of pets i guess...there..

1 surprise was there..you also talked about mating and stuff......

i am sure...there is lot that you can work on this site..but its nice to you have come up with such idea..

Why not better use real pics of animals instead of that gif_style ones? I think it make it looks like some old amateur site (constructive criticism!).

Also the image used as border to your menu are rendering horrible here (NetCaptor)

It's a cute idea, but the site isn't very intuitive to use. It would be a good idea to introduce the users to the virtual pet concept on the home page. I surfed around a bit before I figured out what the site was for.

You might also want to have someone edit the site for grammar and spellings. There were quite a few mistakes on there, and a few of the swedish words seem to have been kept in.

I also agree with yenerich, using nicer pictures of the animals would be a big improvement.

I agree with what everyone saying,
your site should add a better banner on top and more pictures
Instead of using those little cartoon picture for pets, should use some
real picture of let user submit their own pictures.

The concept is great, the domain easy enough to remember, this site could be a real success.

I would change the header though ( the paw print and the flower bit ) to something which would reflect more what your site is about.

I agree with the comments form the other guys, real photos would be probably nicer that those gifs.

The home page took ages to load...

I absolutely agree with Chris-Duff. The concept and domain name are great.
However, I am concerned about graphics and site layout. I also noticed that your site is loading very slow. I timed it at an average of 32 seconds (and I use a T3 connection). You might want to check if this is the server or a script problem.

Maybe get some input from users on what they would like to see in terms of the graphics and layout of the site.

Hope that helps and all the best to you and your project.

Thank on all very good comments!

The reason for the gif images is that one of the main aspects of the site is that the pets can mate and get kids that inherit characteristics from their parents. I initially create the pets randomly which gives (almost) all pets an individual look.

On the swedsh (original site) I have a "goldmember" option (thru premium SMS) where you can replace the generated images with your own creations...

I have received a comment that the domain petz4fun is very bad and that it associates with a sleezy porn site... my imagination fails me on this one... somebody agrees to this?

Excellent idea. Overall design of the site is too basic and lets the big idea down. Real pictures and a more contemporary design will make it a bigger winner.

I think the design is too simple. You should consider using more colours and font families; I personally don't line how Times New Roman looks on a website.
