What do you think of the site?

The site is targeted at webmasters so any comments whatsoever would be appreciated (as long as they are constructive)...

Rather than just the design i would be interested in thoughts on prices, SEO, design and pretty much any aspect of the site.

My partners and I didnt want a template that so many hosts have used because they dont work well with the Search Engines and also too many hosts use them.

http://www.phpservers.com

thankyou.

I think your site would be a whole lot more attractive if you had a better logo. Your site content seems alrgith but the imagei s just killing it for me.

Ouch! I must agree that the site is not very attractive though, it does not look like you spent too much time on the look and feel of it.

My main gripe with this site is the semantics. For headers, it is best to use header tags, for lists - list tags. Not tables. You have a vast plethora of different tags for a reason, they aren't just there to confuse you :) The headers will definately help with the SE's. As will optimising you title, anchor text etc etc.

Using images with text in is quite bad, but when you supply no alt text it is worse, especially if you are using said images for links and/or sub headers. Using a screen reader or text browser I would find it very difficult to order any of your products.

well as has been said the site dont look great
but for what you offer and at the price is cool. if you can do all them things i havent found a stable php host yet the best one i can find is
t35 and it logs me out of the ftp ever time i press a button then i cant get in for a few minutes and is a real pain. so i hope you can do better then that. but that is a free host so what do you expect .

Another thing i noticed was the terms being ridiculously long.

it was too small to read and too much its also not very simple
make something most people can read and have the time to read.
i wouldnt trust that it looks like your try to pull a fast one or something..

the domain name is a good pick hopefully people will pick up on it

I quite liked it, although I think the logo could be improved (pot, kettle, black I know.)

main text is in a teeny font, even though I have set IE's View|Text Size|Largest

I'm always puzzled when I see people enter a crowded field with no concrete plan evident for distinguishing themselves from the pack. I could not see anything on the home page that will make me remember this hosting service. If I had to enter this overcrowded field, I would work very hard to find a unique selling proposition that my competitors would find difficult to duplicate. I would then pound that unique benefit consistently and repeatedly in my sales text, press releases, logo, domain name, etc.

"Quality" is not a unique selling proposition.

I am going to go along and agree with everyone on that header. It just doesn't look profesional at all, and It alone is not doing the rest of the site justice. That is the first thing your customers are going to see. The rest of the content looks orderly and concise. If you can't create a more appealing logo, I fear that your business may be losing out on a lot of oppurtunity

Both <H1> and <H2> tags are used, mainly the blue subtitles.

Good idea. Me and my partners thought that the 7 day free trial that is provided for the shared plans could distinguish us from the majority of the competition, but we'll try to think of something even more distinguishing... If you have a reasonable suggestion yourself we will consider adding it to the business plan.

cheers, hopefully we will be able to monetize on the domain.

I will get somebody to look through it and simplify the conditions.

The header and navigation will also be heavily modified.

any other comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am curious, why on the larger package, do the clients have to contact you rather than order online ?

I think the overall design and structure is great but just a few ideas.

Considering that you are a web hosting company, i'd include a contact phone number.

In addition, i'd probably setup a message forum, maybe a way to drive some traffic.

Finally, i'd consider setting up a merchant account for your payments rather than going through paypal.

My two cents 8)

At the moment Paypal is doing just fine for us - However we know that to accomodate all clients a Merchant account will be vital within a few months time.

Dedicated servers (the larger packages) also require more time and information gathering before they can be completely setup , also the dedicated servers are in limited stock and clients may also want a different spec.

what i liked about the site was that the plans were right up there on the front page. i'd like to see that more often.

the banner, of course, could use a change...otherwise the site looks decent.

yr site has this on front page "$200 /m {contact us}"-

best to eliminate the brackets?
there are 2 "more" and a "{contact us}" for all 3 plans. hardly consistent.

alignments are all messed up. some parts are center, some are leaning left. hard to point out where..

white letters in yr header logo are mixed with the backgrd colors too. they are not entirely white...

I'm sorry, but I just tried checking several different ways and all methods say no headers:
http://www.caffeinefuelled.net/tools/htmltest/
h1 and h2 count both = 0
the headers would also show up with a light grey border in the structure section, and they don't. They would also show up as large and bold (default styling) if they were h1/h2 tags

Tried a search/find in your source code for h1 and h2, and there was no matches found. Then viewed source and found one of those blue subtitles:

Code: [ Select ]
<td height="16" width="9"><img src="/images/full/ttl_left.gif" height="11" width="9"></td>
       <td width="316"><span class="style2">7 Day Free Trial </span></td>
      </tr>
  1. <td height="16" width="9"><img src="/images/full/ttl_left.gif" height="11" width="9"></td>
  2.        <td width="316"><span class="style2">7 Day Free Trial </span></td>
  3.       </tr>

Looks suspiciously like a span inside a table cell to me. No header tags to be found. So still semantically incorrect markup is my critisism.

good and simple site:)
hosting plans are explained good, but you can do more attractive things than this one.

You can programming a site that hosting firms register and then put theis hosting plans to your site directly...

with this method your site be more than good, and your users can change info at every time under your administration control...

yeah, great job on the revamp php....the only thing I can add is that the header is a little to simple. Perhaps add some layer properties to the text. But it may be alright as is....maybe someone will say its ok, and it just might be fine...lol

anyway, huge improvement on the site! nice job
