first thing I noticed was a small gramatical error.

on the home page for the introduction it reads :
My name is Sami and I am am freelance web developer...

Double word.

Other than that I like the design, it's very clean and straightforward. Not too into the fixed backgrounds but that's a personal preference kinda thing.

Hi Sami,
I really like the site logo and the backgound. The only problems that I have is that the background doesn't cover the full width of the screen for me. Also I am not sure the little paragraphs of content need as much real-estate as they are getting. i just wonder if you could shift it elsewhere and then pull up the images to get more of the above the page fold. I like the stationary background as well.

Hope this helps.

I agree with CXLink concerning the background imagery. I feel the 'grungy' background style goes with the site iconography, but I absolutely disagree with having it cut off, I am not sure what size you have designed it for, but on the 1920x1200 display I am working off of, it does not look quite professional.

If you want to keep that look, I would suggest a more elegant fading technique such as the one implements here http://www.columbia.com/. The Columbia example is the best I can think of at the moment but it can be done even better.

But besides that, it looks great.

Best of luck.

The text 'Hello and Welcome, and text about you' I think should be in the 'About Me' section of the website.

Replace this text with a image banner > which links to > About me.
This trick would make your homepage more attractive and remember

A picture is worth 1000 words :)

hi guys (and girls)
thanks for the comments. its been some time since I checked back but the notes on the bkg image - it total news to me (the width issue) so thank you very much, I'll 'add some width'..

the little paragraphs, I guess I was trying to achieve some kind of clarity by separation..not sure if I managed that well
I think I'll keep that in mind for the next version.

not sure if I agree or completely understood new taresh's comments but will take those into consideration for sure also

cant really thank you enough for taking the time to review and comment

Nice web 2.0 style... nice and easy to read and use...

Small downside it that it relies a bit on trends (like the handwritten text around the logo area). these gimmicks soon get overused.
