Hahaha, thanks for noticing. I fixed it :D

Is there anyone going to judge the difference between the 2 previews? cause erm thats a kinda iffy one :D
The difference is the tops, but without alot of graphics those little things make alot of difference in the sites overall look

I really liked the concept of the game. I used to play text-based dungeouns, that were similar to this, back in the day (command prompt style). They were QUITE addictive.

The site iteself is very simple and light. Very efficient for the user agents.

There were a couple critical thoughts about it.

1. The site is so minimal, that you're losing any visual heirarchies. Nothing on the page stands out as having more priority. For instance, after I registered, got the email, clicked the link, got logged in, etc., The interface pog on the left called navigation, where I needed to go to get into the story, wasn't really apparent to me. The titles of the modules blend into the page. the links in the nav module are the same color as the links in the links module. etc.

I say, seperate functionality clearly by providing visual cue's to the user.

2. Someone else said something about setting the mood with graphics. I'd agree with that idea. I'm not sure that graphpics need to go into the header. I wouldn't mind seeing some graphics in the story. So if you're in a town, you see some generic town graphic. Not an overly expository graphic, more a mental cue, really.

I think you should DIRECT the user's experience more. Flesh it out a bit. You've got the bones, put some meat on em.

(yeah, it's a crappy analogy)

--------------

If I had the hours, I would explore your universe a lot more. Keep up the good work.

btw: When you post a review, post 1 URL. I had no idea which one I was SUPPOSED to look at.

;)

problem with this, is that I use a java file and css which basicly put link color changing in dead lock which ruined several of my ideas for special character name colors. But I will be in search for the answer to this evil question.. i really do hate the fact I cannot change the color of the links.
I was thinking Iframe, but I really dont want to risk a user looking at one of those ugly things.

By gosh by golly if I could get an image I would take it but I'm not one willing to be sued for stealing an image that I cannot creat :D I'm not the best at image creation.

Heh about that.. the previews are 2 different ones that i wanted you guys to look at and tell me which one is better
the only difference is the tops of the 2
and the last one is the game currently, with all the content

And the old console games you speak of are MUD's :D
I have played a couple in my time.

I'm not sure If I just want redo all the code, like full blown because the current codebase is EF and I started working with it and it isnt worthy of the time to keep working with, So if i do start over I have my templates and I will start with my own code instead of a codebase.

Thanks for the critisism

about the issue from those different layouts, i would suggest you to allow the users to choose between the ones you have, i play http://www.kingdomofloathing.com and they have the most simplest of layouts, why? because a game that will force a user to refresh constantly, will consume bandwidht like hell, having the simplest layout, possibly without images, would be the best imo, ofcourse theres people with large bdwith allowance per month, so those guys could use a more graphical navigation or whatnot.

i, as the simplist i am, prefer the 1st oldest layout you made, thats just me, for the reason stated above.

functionality goes first, definitly.

indeed.. the game is like a blackhole in the server when it comes to bandwidth. the other 2 only have 2 more images that are really small and I made sure of it, they are both only like less then 1kbs :D
I am going to try to get simplistic layouts and make it so they can be shifted through.
Thank you for your Opinion

clauddiu:
If you are posted that so you can get to post your sit in there.. its not going to work I suggest trying a bit harder or they aren't going to let you :D
And thanks, I like the colors to :D
