Hey there,
Your site doesn't really look good in 1024x768. The News Box is almost in the middle of your page. Some of your graphics don't show either. But I like the page design and layout.

It looks find on 1280x1024... it's properly centered (firefox). I would move the 'get listed on this site' and 'email' links down a bit... there needs to be some whitespace between them and the text above.

Her are some things you should consider:

Check your spelling. I have found some spelling errors which should be corrected ASAP - that lacks professionalism on a major level.

I am not exactly clear on what I can accomplish with your site...advertise my accomodation? Who is accomodating me? What is going on?? My room and board? What conveniance is being advertised for my benefit.... Theres nothing that clearly states the purpose behind the website itself.

Quote:
Cape Accomoodation offers affordable, quality website development and hosting for the tourism industry in Cape Town and the Western Cape.

That should be the first sentence I read.

As far as the site design itself, I think it works, however in Firefox the "Recent News" section gets chopped off a little and I am assuming there isn't enough news to make the scroll functions operate yet...

The banner graphic in my opinion could use a redesign, it doesn't provide any real visual interest and does not reinforce or accentuate anything related towards your business or the concept behind the purpose of the website....

As far as screen resolution - I am @ 1280 x 1024 and it looks just fine.

I can see the graphics and layout clearly. Nothing s wrong with that. There is one thing that you left behind. You did not place any text in your footer which make it looks like a rectangular box to me ... LOL ... any way, I like your clean layout

malprave,

DO NOT start a new topic for a site you've already had reviewed. I've merged both topics into one. Please continue from here regarding this site.

Thank you.

The site looks fine to me, just the right size on 1280 x 1024 and it looks good, there are however a few problems.

The loading times need to be cut.
The title i dont think looks professional in CAPITALS.
After loading i noticed that your images are not loading at all.

looks like a nice design but it wants sorting out a bit.

I wasreviewing in Firefox.

Hello Fellow Capetonian!

Nice idea, but be careful not to jump on the bandwagon, Website & Business directories are popping up everywhere on the Internet in South Africa at the moment.

This means your site needs to be strong in the SEO arena, especially if your trying to market Guesthouses - Cape Town is synonymous with the travel industry on the Internet. Just go to google and type "Cape Town". Your almost guaranteed to see something with "Accommodation" in the top 5.

Good luck on your venture.
With regards to the site itself, I can see you have some good content lined up. Just make sure you fix the DHTML menu's - perhaps you should remove it temporarily.

A good idea would be to set up a form where people can send you their email address so you can let them know when your website is up and running.

Why have used image maps on the buttons on the right-hand side of the homepage?

These are nutoriously bad for SE (search engine) spidering, and combined with your js (javascript) dropdown menu will lead to very poor SE penetration.
The fact that all your links rely on js in some way mean that those with js switched off will be unable to navigate your site at all.

I suggest you add some text links to the foot of your pages to allow for SE spidering and those with js switched off.
