Hey guys, I just polished up my first real website and I'm looking for some constructive criticism. My old page was ePearl Tutorials, but the site has been compeltely redone, and now has a shorter web address.

Please visit Tizag.com
and let me know what you think of this new website.

I don't have the time to go indepth with all the stuff there, but the page seems to have a nice layout *fixed width is a problem at higher resolutions, I see that now, didn't know what you were referring to at first*. I like your opening page, but I was thinking it could follow the drug advertisment a little smoother by making a colorful cd and saying "This is you webpage on ePearl". Looks good otherwise :)

I would suggest that you put on more eye-catching graphics. The tutorials are awesome and I'd definitely recommend your site for those that are starting to learn html and css. I would also suggest that you add tutorials on text filters (like glow, shadow, drop shadow) because that's where the future of text graphics is (I think).

b_heyer, I redid the intro page, I knew it sucked, but I was too lazy to put thought into it.

gba_m, I know this site needs a lot of graphical enhancement. Any specifics? Menu graphics, menu border graphics, content border graphics, category title graphics, etc?

It's my personal opinion that "eye-catching" graphics distract the reader and make it more difficult to learn. I can't stand it when teachers decorate their classrooms because I find it hard to concentrate on their lectures when there's so much neat stuff to look at! Perhaps this is just me, though...

I've changed my website a great deal and moved the URL to Tizag.com. Let me know what you think of the new Tizag.com.

site has a decent layout and importantly it is easy to read and navigate. Maybe a few unnecessary links here and there but tutorials are very clear and easy to follow. However there aren't enough tutorials at the moment to compete with other sites.

I think the layout is great. Havn't tried at diff resolutions though.

It is one of the "easiest on the eye" websites I have seen in a while. Though an inexperienced web user prob would move on quickly as discussed before there is no graphics and the usually will just think it is boring. I on the other hand think that it is great. I could read your page much easier than most and info is easy to find.

1 problem I did find after reading the heading and then the text in the middle of the page I then tried to click on the headings to get more info. And and and then is that I found out that they are not links. I tested this by asking my business partner to look at the site and I watched what he did it took 5 sec before he was trying to click on them with obviously no success.

Excellent look and feel fro what you are doing. Good luck.

Could you please give me a direct link to the page in question and the headers you are talking about? I'm a little slow, and I have heard this complaint before but I can't seem to grasp where this is...

Thanks a ton for this feedback.

It is on the home page.

The headings in the middle. "Lessons Aimed at You"
"Learning Through Examples"

And so on down the page.

Good Luck.
