http://www.tree63fansite.com

I would like honest opinion of this new fansite.

1. What is the first thought when you see it?
2. What do you think of the design, is it pleasant to the eye?
3. Are you able to get around ok?
4. Any other advice.

I used Joomla.

First impression is a nice looking website.

The design looks nice, but the flow of things seems random at best. My eyes jump around from spot to spot picking up bits of information.

Navigation is easy from page to page, like I said its kinda random looking. So finding something within a page is a little awkward. It's not a bad thing. If anything, anyone who gets a feel for the site down, it will probably become natural to them. Relate it back to the first impression of the site.

One other thing is how far one must scroll before they actually get to the page they wanted. The login and random image are something that could easily be implemented into a side panel. They seem to blocky for how little space they actually use up.
[edit] Maybe not a side panel, but shrink them up more, they could easily have a small height and still look nice.

The site runs smooth and seems suitable. No need to change anything, just gave some opinions.

First of all let me say that I absolutely LOVE your site! Now, let me rip it to little shreds.

"Where is the content?" I wouldn't have thought that had I had my laptop hooked up to a larger screen at my office, but on my tiny screen at a resolution of 1280x800, I didn't catch much of the content originally. Maybe move the css style options (is that what is at the immediate top right?) to the bottom or to the right (but not at the top) and trim the top banner/nav bar?

Beer goggles couldn't make it look nicer

Yes.

The phrase random image is not enticing, nor is it relevant. I would put "tree63 image of the day" or something that has a keyword in that spot.

Nice site!

I really appreciate everyone's opinion, it seems that the biggest issue was the position of the content on the first page. I have just moved the content up and login and random images over.

Please take a look, let me know if that will work.

Anita - I'm getting a timeout now!

I hope that means you're getting way too much traffic and nothing more!
