Hello all and thank you in advance for your comments.

We would like to receive comments regarding a new main landing page of one of our websites. The url is: http://www.dxpgroup.com

Please only comment the main/landing page - the index page.
It's a new look and our concern is that it probably is to long - to much info/boxes/content.

Please don't take in consideration the rest of the site.

Thanks a lot.

There is only one W3C Validation error, have a look at it here

And yes, it does feel a little busy ... I think maybe making it a 2-column layout would help a lot (instead of 3) ...

I don't quite understand the image underneath the tree ... it doesn't make sense to me, what is it? the colour fits in beautifully, but the image itself is a bit confusing ...

Another thing:
You're displaying the W3C XHTML 1.1 Valid icon, but 1st of all, the page is not XHTML 1.1 valid, the DocType is XHTML 1.0 Transitional... There are actually 19 errors (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dxpgroup.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=XHTML+1.1&group=0 on the page if you validate with XHTML 1.1. Also, both your CSS and WAI icons are pointing at the XHTML validator as well.

Otherwise, I agree with r_t, narrowing it down to 2 colums would improve the layout alot!

Hi

Website design is good enough - but internals not so nice. For design company would be better to use DIV layouting opposite to TABLE. it's not good style now.

But anyway, website looking good - though bit heavy by my mind.

It does seems like there is a lot going on, but be careful if you switch to two columns because then the width gets mushed downward into length, and visitors will have to scroll a long ways to get to what they want. Scrolling is one of my biggest pet peaves, I hate scrolling forever just to get to what I want to see.

Love the first impression.. maybe you are right, too many boxes.

Here's my openion for reducing the number of the boxes to 6:

- Let's put the newsletters box at the top-right side just next to the tree.. or within the latest news box.

- Contact us details already accessable at the top and bottom menus, no need to include it in a special box.

- Why products are at the bottom? they must be highlighted, so instead of the random images showing at the top of the page.. we can randomly feature one of the products!

Overall.. professional job, well done!

I think layout of the website is OK. but the content is not attractive. You'd better to show some specials for your service.

It has a clean look.....and I like the colors......maybe make "web and graphic design agency " a little larger....but it does have a "professional feel" to it!

Also, a little suggestion of mine. You can easily change your site from traditional XHTML to Strict XHTML. There are only 19 errors on that DTD and they are easily fixable.

Lower down on those columns.
Fix the errors.

You're right bt he is actually using XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Which has only 1 error in it. And also, you are right, he put in the wrong image and anyway. It isn't valid XHTML.

the only thing I could think of was that "web and graphic design web company" text was a bit small, I took me a while to figure out what kind of company it was
