SITE REVIEW:

Web International Awards provides an online ranking system for web design companies all over the world. Ranking is based on earned points by companies in our online contests during time. You will find at Web International Awards the best company you need for your project, and your needs.

You will compare companies based on their ranking, on their projects, on their professionals.

Ranking system has started on 1st of June 2006 and has no time limit.

Please give me some feedback on what do you think about this project.

Website awards schemes are often frowned upon by serious webmasters. You will need to work hard to make your awards actually mean something, and be of value to potential winners.

In terms of design, your site currently looks too much like a template based portal to me, and so you should work on really selling it to people as an 'awards' site. Consider changing your header logo to something more meaningful, so it really stands out, and suggest 'quality'. Try to use your space more efficiently too - the top quarter of your page (header logo) has virtually nothing on it.

Best wishes!

the slogin is too small
the template and color are clean and professional

If you're planning on putting advertising there, you should put a 'Space Available' picture there for now.

You should take off the 'chance to win' thing now that you have 700 users.

How come the title bar is shorter for 'Project of the month' and 'Why web international Awards?' than it is for the others?

Wait until you have 5 reasons before putting up a list of 5 reasons.

Search doesn't work. Perhaps display a message saying so.

It's nice that you have a web form in contact, but perhaps also display an email address or something for browsers that don't have forms or people who would prefer that.

Why do all the 'Latest Replies in Topics' open in a new window?

You list yourself as the top company? In most competitions the judges can't run.

Just a few things to cleanup...

we have less than 20 users. We have 700 Unique visitors by now.

main search engine is not yet complete. you may search with the right search tool located under the user panel.

We might have that option soon.

Because they are on the forums, not the main site.

If you click all the companies, you will se that they are all ranked 8 as they have no points yet. my company is displayed first because it was the first regitered.

http://www.webia.info/page.php?id=4

if you go there you will read in that page: "You will not be able to rate your own projects."
Everybody will be able to submit projects, members and/or professional judges. They will not be able to rate they own projects.

You may register, submit your project, and when the voting period is on try to rate your own project. You will see that you are not able to do that.

I think you should put them on the list there too then.

I still think you should mention that then.

It's not really an option, just a matter of making an image with your email and putting it in the contact section.

Also I assume a project is absolutely anything you make on the web? A website? A section of a website? A game? A tool? A flash presentation? A downloadable powerpoint presentation? A story? A movie? Is there anything it can't be?

Chosen username already exists.

I entered nothing...

Chosen email already exists / you have not supplied any / it is not valid.

Hmm maybe a bit better a checking system would help.

Quote:
You will automatically be created a new forums user too. By pressing the proceed button your data will first be validated then you must hit proceed again to complete your registration. You will receive on your supplied email address activation keys for your username.

This is a bit too long. Try:
Quote:
Note: You must click the proceed button twice. Once to validate and once to complete registration. Your email address will be verified by email.

It's up to you but I think the forum should not open in a seperate window. Isn't it part of your site? And if you register using the same form then it might cause some confusion.

Web International Awards is a powerful online ranking system for web design companies all over the world. So, it has to deal with web deosgn / developement of web sites / web aplications. Not power point presentations.

Thanks for the tips to shorten the bottom registration text.

If you enetr nothing for username it returns failed nad the erorr message is diaplyed. As soon as I have time I`ll tweak it to show up enter an username not blank text :D

same for email address. if you do not enter some@some.some it will not validate.

I like the color and sheme of your website, pale blueish green (or greenish blue :) ) and orange are complementary colors and match very much imo.

I also like the fact your desing is fluid and will match also users resolution of 800*600px

also, I love your header graphic, it's kinda "futuristic".

About clearity, I would add some spaces between each topics, in your 5 boxes (Quick Links and below boxes). Also, I saw project url in non clickable in the project listing itself.

Beside this 2-3 small details (that are due to the fact it's a new website with adaptation over time), I think your website is very well done and looks professional

Now what I would like to know and I have not been able to find in the guidelines:
If I submit a project and if I am rated very low, will I be able to remove the link? and suppose only my contest-competitors vote on me, wouldn't they be unfair in order to have more chance to win? how do you plan to look at that?

also, is there evey month a contest? if yes, better for me to submit one project per month only, and not all my projects at once, am I right?

THanks in advance for your answers :)

>>>>> all contest competitors vote on each other. so It wouldn`t be unfair. Besides competitors visitors vote too (like people from your website if you let them know to vote for you) , and a few professionals from Web International awards

30% of points come from visitors
30% from competitors
40% from professionals

so the professionals have the last word about who wins to contest

Yes, there is a contest every month. Winners of project of the month will also compete in project of the year.

Moreover, we will soon have similar constests (like P of the Month), each with a different theme.

Al subpages have pr 3 or something like that.
Googlebot spends lots of time at our website.

The second project of the month is on the way.

And in a month or something we will have a new template, users beeing able to choose which one to use.
