I think you should decide if your site is more art-orientated or more reviews/technical orientated. An 'art' site needs definitively better design.
If you want to have kinda review site - for instance like dpreview.com, design it simpler and structured.
You should also review the navigation and to try to redesign the placement of the ads and content - for me it is a bit disturbing this mixture between information, ads from Google and ads.

You mention that you a new in web development - no problem at all. There are billions of tutorials, howto-s, css/html solutions in www - just go ahead.
