ok. roger about yr login. i thought it was for members or something like that.

i like the way things are done in yr sites, neat and clear. bet there are many things to do for the site
:-) lol.

in any case, are you gonna put stars for ratings in movie reviews. I am a movie buff and I always look for stars (movie ratings) ,together with my favourite editor , even when I am not gonna read the review. lol.

hope all my comments help.

We wanted people to read the reviews because you cant sum up a film by its stars IMO however you cant force users can you. I will talk to my editors about ratings.

EDIT: Ratings now added if the editor has one set in the database eg: http://www.futuremovies.co.uk/review.asp?ID=210

I just had a look on my work computer (a pice of junk) and it's really hard to tell how many stars there are. This because if there are >5 stars you count the empty spaces. On a *plum* monitor it's really hard to see how many blanks there are, because there is not much contrast.

Not a big deal because few people use monitors like this one, but then few people use IE4  just thought I'd let you know and you can decide for yourself what to do about it.

//edit: just to clarify, you can see it, if you look, but not "at a glance", which to me is the whole point of a stars system. Just my opinion and not a very important thing.

I had 76 people on IE4 on Future Movies (less than 0.5%) and a couple thousand on my work site about 1% (Ok so its in the Education sector  )

I will try doing yellow stars but I cant believe the contrast issue... surely the text would be harder to read than the stars! (for 0.0001 of a second first thing in the morning I was going to suggest you send me a screen shot  )

Lol, I thought the exact same thing when I was writing it. lol, mornings suck.

But you missunderstand me, it's not the stars that are difficult to see, it's the missing stars. When I went to the "I, robot" review, it gets 8 stars. With 8 out of ten stars, I would tend to look and see, two empty stars rather than 8 full stars. Because I can do that at a glance and don't have to count them up.

The silver stars themselves show up fine, and I think they look better than gold ones would, but it's the empty spaces that have the contrast problem. Like I said it's only a minor issue
