Hey yall, this is more a functionality test than a site review. Wasn't sure where I should put it, so I put it here. Mods, If this is the wrong place, feel free to move it.

Anyway, it's an online favicon creator/editor. I wrote it because of the stickied favicon thread over in webdesign, the number of times I've seen new questions about favicon, and because I was bored today.

It will take an image (gif, jpg, png or bmp) up to 300x300 or an existing .ico file, and allow you to pixel edit it. once you're done, it will create a new .ico file, offer it for download and give brief instructions on how to add it to a webpage.

What I need is testing. I know it works in IE6, FF1 and Opera8, but what I'm really concerned about is uploading existing .ico files. Ico files can have more than one resolution of the icon stored in the same file, and I want to test it with as many .ico files as possible to make sure it generates decent results.

Anyway, the URL is http://www.kgreene.com/favicon.php

If you encounter ANY problems, please let me know.

I plan on posting this to the favicon thread :)

I like it! Any way you could add the functionality of click-and-drag drawing? As of right now, you have to click every pixel to shade it individually. I would like to be able to drag across and fill in a line.

Not sure if that's possible using standard web coding, since browsers generally support drag and drop, it would be difficult to "get around" that functionality without switching to flash or something.

Hmm, just thought of something. I could possibly overlay a div on top of the editor, track mouse movements on drag and set the pixels that way. I'll play around with it, however, my intent wasn't to create a full blown icon editor, just a convertor with minor editing features.

There's only one way to say this: Wow...
It works really well. I must say, it's a great idea. Is that just a test domain section, or is that where it's gonna stay?
Nice work. Love it.

9/10 from me.

Thanks guys.
Funny_Fuzz; that's where it's going to stay. I may be adding more features, I don't know. Been playing around with rectangles and lines since UPSGuy's post :)

ok, I added some more features.
16x16 and 24x24 sizes
Filled and border rectangles.

The rectangle tools will also do lines, but only horizontal and vertical.
I'm looking into adding a true line tool.

Added the line tool last night. It uses a Bresenham algorithym to generate the line. I looked into using a recursive algo, but it produced lines with bulges and double pixels.

Yes, it is. Spent about 3 mins on it and didn't think it needed to be any more stylish than that :)
As for the fuzz, It has a slight drop shadow to it, but nothing more than that.

Hey fuzz, I noticed your avatar in the upload directory, but there was no output ico and I realized I wasn't handling animated gifs properly, so I fixed it.
If you upload an animated gif, it will display the individual frames (up to 10) and allow you to pick one to use. It doesn't handle transparency well, and usually displays transparent pixels as black.
