I can't even ping it. I can't ping it by name or IP address. The same in the browser, neither the IP nor the name works.

It's way too top secret. That's the problem.

Nice design looks like it would fit nice in a cellphone too!!! :D however I'm not sure you want your users to be able to load javascript?

http://www.shoutscloud.com/commm

Did a very unharmful addition there (a popup), a image and a iframe. Perhaps you have some smart ways in there to notice "dangerous" commands(?!). I'm no expert but I have a feeling that javascript can be harmful and something you might want to remove.

Apart from letting the user alter the site in a perhaps dangerous way (cross site scripting), There is also an issue with the "BOT check" as I see it, at least here the answer is always 10 and not random at all. Having a bot submit "10" would be a none issue. And what if I jump to shoutscloud.com/register.php directly? Can I still sign up, totally avoiding the apatcha or is there some hidden checks in place? IDK I didn't try but I saw no redirects when doing so. Perhaps people are nice enough to not do bad stuff, but I wouldn't count on that.

I think the design of your site is not finished yet, so i will not talk about it. The main problem that i see when i enter your page is that i have to register somewhere, but i do not know where i will register. You do not give any normal information about your product/service, so it seams a little bit unsecure.

i have notice the site dont say much on what it is designed for. You can click on members or on people that are on the front page. I am not too sure on how to catagorize the site either a blog or a shoutbox for thoes been around long enof known when thoes were popular. Any ideas on how to better the site i am open for. You can view anybodys post. How ever that will soon change with upcoming updates to the site for thoes that want there posts for only friends.

The maths question is an interesting choose I would say that you may be best sticking with one of the words ones, since bots find maths easy but identifying mixed up words is much harder for them.

I have taken that into consideration how ever the numbers cannot be seen in source code.. So unless the bot can see whats on the screen then it can put in the value then it will proceed. how ever if that does happen then there is not much difference then words over numbers. Thanks for the concern and review.

Hi, I realise I didn't give a very helpful review last time I just talked about the login question, so here is a proper review.

First of all there is a very small bug when you view the site in webkit browsers that is coursing the text on the bottom of the page to fall out of the div, I have no idea why though.

The other thing that catchers my eye is the fact that a lot of the form styling is left on browser default which would be fine but webkit has a real ugly default form style.

Also maybe the logo could link back to the homepage, I know that there is a link at the bottom of the page but I didn't see it at first and the logo tends to link back to the index page for most sites even ozzu does.

But I do like the idea and think that with a bit of work it could really take off, it just rests on you getting a nice solid userbace. Good Luck

i have designed the site for chrome. I have viewed the site in safarie and it came out fine. I know IE just messes up eveything. I am trying to work on that. And firefox is almost the same as IE. I am like i said working on it.

I am going to be redoing the css for the logo click back.

any other ideas i am open to!

to me this site is nothing with out the user. This is your site!!!

I have tested the site in FF4/Safarie/Chrome and it does not have any issues! I know about the bottom div of the cert and the security tags.

Updates.

We are now making all login/registration/edit profile information go thought HTTPS for your security!

Most of the visitor kick a website which website need to at first registration. Your website contain only a login box at first. Can you tell me why a visitor join your website without knowing any info.

You logo not good please edit it.

Tell that to Facebook and Twitter.

You need some sort of "About Us" paragraph on your home page to describe the service you provide. Maybe redesign your site as well.

Design isn't really my area but I do think you could work on functionality and offer better ways to "connect" on the site.

Also I didn't notice at first but the navigation isn't the best, I click a profile and are forced to click "home" or use the back button after that.
Its really exhausting to click through all the profiles that way.

Hey,

You obviously have a enthusiasm for this project, I know how you feel I've been there myself. I can only review on a user-experience an engineering perspective.

1. Get rid of the login box. Having 'X' registered member is pretty useless if they never come back again :(

2. You are using tables to layout your website. You need to move across to CSS and learn to embrace the nightmares that are x-browser issues.

3. Instead of writing your code from scratch you will achieve a lot more if you learn a framework. One of the biggest is "cakePHP" and although it's a lot to learn you will reap the rewards if you persist.

Good luck.

I like the fact that you looked at the site. I know that working with a system like phpnuke or cakePHP can make things easyer but when designing a code from scratch it keeps me thinking of new ideas to keep my code clean and easyer to work with.

Hi Demon,

I 'think' phpNuke is a content management system and not to be confused with a framework. Frameworks enable you to skip the boring stuff like user authentication and pagination enabling you to concentrate on your 'idea'. They are not applications, just an underpinning layer of very clean code written by experts that you can exploit and build upon.

If you intent to revisit this project they are definitely worth a peek. They are very fashionable and the raise the bar. Saves peeps reinventing the wheel with every application they build (such as login/logout). Most developers/companies I know now specialise in 1 or more. You'll learn a lot about PHP best practice from using one.

Cheers.

indeed captcha would work however it will not capture a good enough of a bot. just look at craigslist they use captcha and bots still get past it. So i just added my link filtering and just let it have some fun for what traffic it does get

That's no reason to not put up a captcha... if craigslist didn't have that captcha a LOT more bots would be posting listings there.

Only determined programmers care enough to create a bot that is able to crack a captcha... that takes a long time. Craigslist is a sales listing directory (I call it that) and shoutscloud is something similar to twitter. More programmers would care to crack craigslist's captcha then shoutscloud... until shoutscloud gets popular enough that is.

Not sure what you are talking about. You don't need to register.

The only thing you have to do to post is play the game to make sue you are not a robot. Robots are cool and all but they are not fun on a website like that.
