The .swf format is the Macromedia Flash file format which stands for Shockwave Flash. It is a published Flash file that the Macromedia Flash player reads and interprets. The .swi format is the source file format for SWiSH files. They can be edited using the latest SWiSHmax product from SWiSHzone. After you are done editing the .SWI file you would export that to a .swf format so that users can load your flash presentations.

The .psd format is the Adobe Photoshop data format which can be read on any machine that has Adobe Photoshop installed. It is cross platform and can be used on both PCs and Macs. The PSD format provides extended support for layering, alpha channels, paths, and vectors. The PSD source file included has the template source files usually in a sliced format which allows you to customize and make changes to the images on your skin. This makes it very useful for customizing your website as you see fit. If any additional fonts are required, they are included with the Photoshop file.
