i guess Yahoo just take some time whether a good offer is coming, and if my guess is right, Yahoo might sell it to Google rather in MSN unless MSN raise its offer

Yahoo is still considering a Google partnership as a means of fending Microsoft off, the papers say and you may read it here

I don't think anything would change if Microsoft bought Yahoo!, but I wouldn't particularly like to see Yahoo! products change like Live Search integrated with Yahoo! Search, etc. Let's just see what happens.

Here are few quotes from a couple of different news sites, on the takeover bid and a site that provides a few possible scenarios as to why things are happening they way they are.

In an effort to avoid being gobbled up by Microsoft, the struggling Internet firm has reportedly explored alliances with Google, Time Warner-owned America On Line, and social networking website MySpace owned by News Corp. Some

Yahoo stock holders in California are suing the firm for not accepting an offer Microsoft made to buy Yahoo early last year, when the stock price was higher.

Alibaba, the big Chinese e-commerce company is 39% owned by Yahoo Inc. That has been OK for Alibaba; Yahoo has not taken any role in running the company. But, the firm and the Chinese government are a little worried that Microsoft Corp. will not see it that way if it buys Yahoo!

The most important thing, which I have said before, is that any time there are acquisitions such as that, jobs are eliminated and "The Theory Of Increasing Misery" is proven once again. It is always the workers who suffer, therefore, the acquisition shouldn't take place.

I personally think that , that purchase would have been a good one. Was it really undervalued by Microsoft? Now that Yahoo is sued again,

David Filo ,co-founder of Yahoo is good friend with Larry Page. Yahoo has not only use Google search engine to enhance the searching scalability , it has also acquired a tech-firm owned by Larry's brother for about hundreds of millions a few years ago.

In acquisition, I had a client who worked for a local bank here was transferred to a different location because of acquisition with a larger bank. He had increased in salary. The downsides could be wider scope ,and definitely more competitive. He was very worried about his job ,at first about the acquisition he thought he might get fired.

And i really have no idea if, Yahoo purposefully was trying to team up with Google ,against Microsoft as friendship, or Was it really undervalued and Yahoo sees it in business sense ?

I foresee more goods than bads, like not much will be changed . Besides a maybe "different" logo and enhanced features..

Even I will be very happy if MS overtakes Yahoo. Instead of two crappy Search Engines, may be we will get one better product.

nicolemurphy: There is no guarantee that you'll get a good product if MS takes Yahoo. When they bought hotmail, there were a lot of problems. Besides that, takeovers usually mean loss of jobs.

Earlier, I was thinking, it'd be interesting to watch the takeover but now I think again, I realized that I'm just worried when microsoft makes something out of yahoo and we need to pay something..

Cuz Microsoft doesn't give much free, or open source stuff...

MS has already acquired some shares from Yahoo, I think( not sure ) but the share is not big enough for MS to make most decisions.
