My website ranks in the top 5 on Google, MSN and other search engine ofr our keywords, but we rank nowhere in a Yahoo search for the same keywords. We have a paid Yahoo directory listing. Any ideas what we could be missing for Yahoo? Way would we rank well in all other engines except Yahoo? Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, once i was listed in first place in msn and yahoo, i too pay for the yahoo directory.

Over night i was removed from yahoo and msn, ive spoken to msn and im not banned so god knows what happened, the funny thing is a few days before i got a high listing in google and that gets me 1000 times more hits than yahoo and msn put together, fun world : )

Is your site new? I think Yahoo has a more intense Sandbox for new domain names. My domain is new, but I bought it for 10 years and Google loved me for it. I can wait for the next pagerank update!

When they did the change in January I went to a 1. I'm hoping for at least a 4 now.

Google focuses more on inbound links to measure site popularity and importance. I would work more with your onsite factors for yahoo rankings. Yahoo was easy for us to rank for (top 3 pos for 20 keywords within 6 months).

Google takes years worth of developing content and links.

We don't know on what basis yahoo rank a website in its result pages as we know about Google guidelines for ranking in Google.

Yahoo is a tougher search engine to please. I find it difficult and primarily focus efforts on google optimization. If you are optimized right for google, yahoo will soon follow.

Don't you worry some SEO say that Yahoo is more like Google today.

It happened to me as well and as far as I know I think Yahoo will index your site slower than google. But don't worry, it will show up in a matter of time.
