Pretty new to SEO, a few questions:

1. How often does yahoo's spider visit websites? ie. how often does Yahoo update it's cache of a website?

2. Using Bruce Clay's keyword density analyser http://www.bruceclay.com it tells me this about a page of my site

Page is NOT LinkMaps sub-directory linked
Page is NOT PathMaps enabled
Page is NOT Dynamic Site Mapping enabled

What does that mean? Is it something to worry about?

3. why are some links clocked by google, whereas others aren't?

1/ If you signed up for any of Yahoo/Overture's programs...say SiteMatch, then your site is spidered every 72 hours. If not, it would be based on the total number of links you have coming into your site and the overall importance of your site.

2/ I wouldn't worry about keyword density. Just make your pages read naturally, use well searched keywords and theme your page around that keyword(s).

this is right from yahoo
Quote:
Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled.

that is if u submit your URL.
u might see that u have been crawled by yahoo, but they dont update their databases for weeks sometimes. not always though.
Google updates much much more often then any search engine.

GSlinger, your correct, but if you do want your site to be guaranteed to be refreshed every 72 hours, sign up for SiteMatch, though I would just stick with the free indexing.

i agree. i was just saying that yahoo might not update their databases for a while though. they might crawl your site in a day, but they might not update for a week is all i was tryin to say.
