I've got two programs in my Add/Remove Programs that won't uninstall. I don't ever remember installing them and they won't go away when I click on Change/Remove even though it runs a dialog box with a progress bar that goes all the way through. Even after rebooting it does not work.

When I do a google search on the programs-
ANIO Service and
ANIWZCS Service

I get a German website:
http://www.supportnet.de/fresh/2005/2/id1011392.asp

Since I'm pulling it from my work website - I can't have it translate it to English.

So I"m really, really stuck.

I believe these two programs are preventing me from accessing the internet on my Gateway laptop.
Even when I deactivate Norton Anti-virus 2005= it still will not pull up the internet.

Both of those programs are related to D-Link, I have them too (and I asked myself the same question when I first saw them a few months ago). As far as I remember, neither are really spyware but I still havent figured out their exact purpose. You wont be able to remove them unless you run the uninstaller for the entire "AirPlus Xtreme G" utility, which may or may not bugger your wireless connection. I just left it as-is knowing that it was in fact related to D-Link and hasnt been known to do anything more than eat a few extra resources.

Hi I'm new here and I did a search on the same two programs (that's how I ended up here) and a few sites had said the same thing, that it is related to D-Link but I don't own any D-Link equipment on my network. My router is Linksys, and my PC adapter is BWI715 Super G Wireless PCI Adapter. (i didn't even know that until I did a search on the BWI715 program I saw running and didn't know what it was. when I did the search I saw the pci adapter in the box I purchased......glad I didn't uninstall it.......but back to my point I don't have D-Link. So why do I have that same issue. My problem is my web browsing speed has been reduced drastically. My signal and my speed is operating normally. It just takes my pages a real long time to load. Like 45 sec or more. Also when I do a Spysweep on my system it bogs down after 15% has been scanned and eventually crashes. I would like to really know if that ANIO and the AWI is really the source of my problems or is it something else.

I have these two programs in my program list too, and I have D-Link too. I think these two programs are useful.

if you're using any type of superwireless g options, you're using the atheros chip. companies like d-link, netgear, airlink all use the atheros chipset for their super wireless g. i've had that exact same problem. here's the solution. uninstall all drivers and software relating to the wireless network. reinstall only the "drivers". don't install the software for the wireless adapter. then use windows to connect you to wireless networks. if you're using the software thats provided with the wireless card, then its gonna run that anzio crap. anyways hopes this helps you guys out.

i did alittle more research, supposedly that ANIO/ANIWZCS services are support utilities for the wpa on your wireless network. i dont use wpa so it doesn't matter to me. anyways its just FYI.

I know this is a rather old topic, but I ran into this same problem on a Windows Vista machine. Here is what I did to get it to uninstall:

Run the following commands to uninstall ANIO Service and ANIWZCS2 Service:

(do this from the command prompt, ie Start->cmd->run as admin)

RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{7B5CE976-C7A9-4E38-A7F3-6C8EF025DD8E}\Setup.exe" /uninst

RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\engine\6\INTEL3~1\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{4C590030-7469-453E-8589-D15DA9D03F52}\Setup.exe" /uninst

The trick here is to have that /uninst command line switch on the end. The default uninstall string for both those programs DO NOT have the /uninst switch, so it just runs the setup and exits...

Well, they work on windows2000 pro. And yes,if you actually have a Dlink WLAN card it will stop it from working. Did for me anyways. I get ANIO service errors on my limited user account, which is why I was playing with this. Might just have to live with it or get a different WLAN card.
