I knew you'd beat me to it...Good job bro! This so rocks!

1He was always going to beat you to it 😂 I’m still trying to get to grips with how things work here. I’ve not actually been on Ozzu for a number of years… mostly because I live in Europe and the site was restricted to us. Maybe there can be some sort of tutorial somewhere about how to use this site? Other than that It is grest to be back. — Craig C.

0Yeah I do realize there is quite a bit to learn to fully understand the ins and outs to Ozzu. I do plan on creating an onboarding interactive feature at some point in the future, primarily targeted at new users. However, I will do it in a way that anybody can start it again, and I may do it in a way that you get awarded a badge or reputation by going through it. With that said I definitely plan to do things either in the forms of tutorials, videos, or more to help with this. — Brian Wozeniak

This is definitely different. Going to take some time to get used to but definitely a nice job.

0Yes for sure, moderation is completely different now. The system relies on trust and reputation and pretty much anybody and everybody can moderate assuming the system has learned to trust you. — Brian Wozeniak

16 years I’ve been a member here and I can’t upvote… 😮
It is definitely going to take a bit of getting used to.
-
0LOL, yeah I actually did quite a bit of debating around if everyone should be able to upvote, or if some trust should be built. Ultimately I decided some trust is needed to prevent spammers from creating multiple accounts and then upvoting each other. You will get there before you know it 😁 — Brian Wozeniak

How does moderating work (if it still exists?)
-
0There is a flagging system that you will eventually get access to which allows you to flag posts that need attention. This puts the posts in review queues that members with higher reputation have access to (and me). The members who look at the review queue have different options, they can agree with the flag, disagree, etc. If either enough users agree then its moderated or if a user of even higher reputation agrees it is immediately moderated . This system allows potentially many more users to help keep the community in good shape. Additionally there are automated tools that will auto flag posts and put them in the queue, for example first posts and late posts go into review queues as well. — Brian Wozeniak

I'm glad i logged in on my laptop. When i first logged on i was on my phone, which was good. But i love a few other features that i'm seeing better on computer that i couldn't on phone.
Great work, Brian.

0I am trying very hard to make the phone as usable as possible, but I agree desktop is still easier to use. Can I ask which features you were referring to that you are seeing better on the computer? — Brian Wozeniak
-
0The overall interface appears better. On my phone (iPhone SE 2020) the "new comment" pop up takes up most of the screen. Small things like that will make me more inclined to log on via desktop over my handheld devices. I feel i can learn the new Ozzu better on desktop. Initially it wasn't making a load of sense on phone. — Craig C.

0I will test some more with the phone soon to try and improve that box notification to not take up so much of the screen. You can also goto your communication settings by clicking on the gear at the top, and then click on notifications. Then click on On-Site Settings and changes watches from Modal to Bell . However this would also change it on desktop too. In that area you can customize what notifications you get and where. — Brian Wozeniak

Oh it feels very strange being back after so long!

0Times are strange! Glad to see you again! — Brian Wozeniak

118 years of membership - I went from being a teen building some websites into a father of two and a career in IT! Its nice to see Ozzu again. Being in the EU Ozzu has been blocked for a while. — Nucleo

0Yeah I know it was very unfortunate that I had to do that, I am very happy I can open it back up to everyone again. It is crazy how much time has passed since the early days of Ozzu, you have been a member for 18 years! That is awesome with your family and career! — Brian Wozeniak
